Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2025-01-29T20:43Z ( ACE: SWEPAM )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: SWEPAM
ACE: MAG
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2025-01-29T20:43:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified)
Note: Characterized by a gradual increase in magnetic field components (B_t: approx. 5.47nT to 12.6nT , B_x: approx. 4.62nT to 8.78nT , B_y: approx. -1.28nT to -10.17nT , B_z: approx. -3.03nT to 8.34nT) as well as an increase in density from approx. 6.37p/cc to approx. 16.99p/cc. There is no clear shock feature associated with this signature, as it is likely a minor flank impact. A similar, but more direct signature can be observed at Solar Orbiter, which was 20 degrees East of Earth at the time of impact, beginning at approx. 29/13:00Z
